I was at an indoor pool. And magically, presumably a baby appeared. The indoor pool had a sign that said "industrial water" or something. The life-guard kept saying they were closing and it was industrial water or whatever the sign said.Everyone there was blurry/or just strangers. I wasn't even swimming or in the pool at all.The baby jumped in as she(Lifeguard) was shutting off the lights of the pool and something appeared from the other side. She was telling us that we had to follow the rules. The baby looked like it swam from one end to the other that quickly but it wasn't the baby and even if it was I still jumped in after it. (it was already dark in the area for some reason) I jumped in after hearing those baby sound effects. The baby noises were artificial sounding(as in sound effect/cartoon/voice actor).Anyway I was drowning in what I thought was a pool cover. Before leaving the life-guard said 'figure it out" after I said "How do I drain the pool' or whatever I asked...Which she left before all of this.. It was intentional. I got trapped in the pool cover but was drowning, and I just laid there after fighting a little...Accepting both the baby and I were dead... (I didn't even try very hard in the dream)
Dreams often serve as reflections of our subconscious thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Your dream features several significant symbols and themes that could reflect various aspects of your waking life.
Indoor Pool: Pools often symbolize emotions and the unconscious mind. An indoor pool may suggest that you are exploring your emotions in a contained or perhaps insecure environment. The mention of "industrial water" could indicate feelings of sterility, artificiality, or a lack of emotional depth in your life or surroundings.
Baby: Babies often represent new beginnings, innocence, and vulnerability. The baby appearing mysteriously might symbolize a new aspect of yourself, a project, or an idea that you didn't initially recognize but feel compelled to protect or nurture.
Lifeguard and Rules: The lifeguard represents guidance and the need for safety. Her insistence on following the rules suggests that you may feel constrained by certain societal norms or personal boundaries. The fact that she leaves you before you dive in could indicate feelings of abandonment or a sense that you are navigating a situation on your own.
Jumping in: Your decision to jump into the pool after the baby, even against warnings, may imply a willingness to take risks or face challenges that could lead to personal growth, even if it feels dangerous or uncertain.
Artificial Baby Sounds: The cartoonish, artificial sounds may reflect a sense of unreality in the situation, perhaps suggesting that the emotions or experiences you're dealing with don’t feel genuine or significant—more like a facade rather than authenticity.
Drowning and Acceptance: Drowning in a pool cover symbolizes feelings of being overwhelmed—possibly by responsibilities or relationships. Your eventual acceptance of both your and the baby's fate may indicate a resignation or coming to terms with certain aspects of your life that feel out of control or hopeless. It could point to feelings of defeat or a need to let go of something that has been weighing you down.
Seeking Help: Your question about how to drain the pool and the lifeguard's dismissive response could highlight feelings of frustration regarding your autonomy and a desire for guidance that feels unattainable.
Overall, this dream could suggest that there are areas in your life where you feel trapped, overwhelmed, or unsure, possibly related to changes or new beginnings (symbolized by the baby) that you're navigating. It may be worthwhile to reflect on your waking life for signs of emotional distress, transitions, or the need for support and exploration of your inner feelings.
